Since August 2017, the organization is running the Lado project in 129 villages of Block, Bikaner and Sridungargarh of Bikaner district and 116 villages of Block Phalodi and Lohawat of Jodhpur district.Project Objective:1. To create child marriage-free villages by bringing awareness among the villagers of the region and their self-motivation.The details of the activities conducted under the project are as follows:Baseline survey in Bikaner and Jodhpur district under the project:In the districts of Bikaner and Jodhpur of the project area, through Urmul, youths and adolescent girls should be empowered so that they can lead dignified lives. For this, a house-to-house baseline survey was done for boys and girls aged 10-19 years. So that it can be known how many boys and girls are deprived of education in these villages and in which society a maximum number of child marriages are there, so that those families get maximum education.To be more aware.Two days training of project teamTwo days of training of 18 member team of Jodhpur and Bikaner of Lado project was organized on 25-26 September 2017 at Urmul Seemant Samiti Bajju. In this training, on the first day, UNICEF advisor Mr Yudhishtar ji informed the workers about what is a child, child rights, adolescent-teenager, child protection rights, the principle of child rights club, block and panchayat level child protection committee, laws and regulations related to children, and government schemes. On the second day, the project's goals, objectives, activities, etc. were discussed in detail. In the last session of the second day, planning of baseline survey of district and panchayat committee-wise workers, block-wise and along with it, Panchayat level child protection committee, formation of child rights club in secondary and higher secondary school, planning to make girl forum at each Anganwadi centre. Created.Organization of 16-day campaign:In collaboration with Girls Not Brides, a 16-day information and awareness campaign was organized from 25 November to 10 December 2017 in Bikaner and Jodhpur districts to prevent violence against girls and women. Under this campaign, programs were organized at government schools and public places in the villages of the project area.During the programmes, activities like speeches, group discussions, debate competitions, rallies and songs etc. were organized by the project personnel in collaboration with government agencies. The project personnel gave information about the causes, types, prevention measures and government laws etc. to prevent violence against girls and women to the adolescent girls and villagers.Orientation of Child Protection Committee members:All the child protection committee members of Bikaner and Jodhpur of the project area were oriented on the issue of prevention and termination of child marriage. During this orientation program, all the members were explained about the effects of child marriage on the society, as well as the efforts to connect the children left out of the school in the village were discussed.Orientation to Panchayati Raj members:Under the project, a one-day orientation program was organized for Panchayatiraj members Sarpanch, Upsarpanch and Ward Panchos of Bikaner and Jodhpur districts. During the orientation program, the harm caused by child marriage to the members of Panchayati Raj and the bad effects on the society were discussed. During the program, possible efforts were also discussed with the members to make their villages and gram panchayats child marriage free. During this, the members participating in the program were administered oaths to prevent child marriages in their respective fields.Participation in Self-Help Group Meetings:The workers working on the project participated in the meetings of the self-help groups formed by Urmul in the Bikaner and Jodhpur districts of the project area. During these meetings, publicity was spread for the prevention of child marriage and detailed information was discussed about the disadvantages and ill-effects of child marriage.Formation of Children's Club:In the Bikaner and Jodhpur districts of the project area, child rights clubs were formed in the government schools of the work area as per the instructions of the Department of Child Empowerment, Government of Rajasthan, Jaipur. The government's child dialogue booklet was distributed to the members of the child rights club. At the time of book distribution itself, the members were urged to read the topics given in the book and inform other children and parents of the village. The office bearers of the club decided that they would discuss the topics given in the book in every meeting.Announcement of Child Marriage-Free Gram Panchayat:Under the project, Panchayatiraj members of Bikaner and Jodhpur districts, sarpanch, deputy sarpanch and ward panch were declared free from child marriage with the cooperation of the community, caste leaders, administration and Urmul team.Organization of Children's Day Week:Children's Day week was organized to orient all the students of the project area on the issue of prevention and end of child marriage on Children's Day. In this event, all the students present during the program explained the effects and disadvantages of child marriage on society, as well as efforts were made to connect the children who were left out of school with regular school education in the village.Events on International Girl Child Day:All the girls in the project area were oriented on the issues of prevention and termination of child marriage on International Day of the Girl Child. During this orientation programme, all the girls have explained the effects of child marriage on society, as well as efforts, were made to connect the children left out of the school in the village. Various provisions of the Child Marriage Prohibition Act 2006 were also discussed during the program and awareness rallies were also organized.Participation in teen group meetings:In the Bikaner and Jodhpur districts of the project area, participation was made by the working personnel in the monthly meetings of adolescent groups formed by Urmul. During these meetings, the prevention of child marriage, the Girl Child Education and Child Marriage Prohibition Act 2006 were discussed.Events on National Girl Child Day:National Girl Child Day was celebrated on January 24, 2018, in Bikaner and Jodhpur under the Lado project. On this occasion, orientation was done on the issue of prevention and the end of child marriage. During this orientation program, all the girls explained the effects of child marriage on the society, as well as the efforts to connect the children, left out of the school in the village, were discussed. Various provisions of the Child Marriage Prohibition Act 2006 were also discussed during the programme.Special Achievements:04 villages in the project area operated district Bikaner and 01 village panchayat in Jodhpur were declared child marriage free with the cooperation of gram panchayat, community, caste leaders, administration and Urmul team. An atmosphere has been created in the area by organizing a child marriage-free program and other panchayats have also started coming forward to declare child marriage free. Girls deprived of education have started joining school. In this reporting period, 207 girls are associated with regular school education in the project area. Gram Panchayat and caste leaders have started monitoring to stop child marriage. Young people also have an increased understanding of laws to stop child marriage and theyIncreasingly, they have started joining this campaign. The fear of child marriage has started to develop in the community and there is concern about the development of their children.Positive thinking has started developing.
