Brief Introduction of the Program:Girls Not Brides is a global partnership of over 1000 social organizations from 95 countries committed to ending child marriage. It was established in September 2011. Girls Not Brides Rajasthan was created in December 2017 in Jaipur, Rajasthan. Its main objective is to eliminate the practice of child marriage from Rajasthan, as well as to raise the voice of girls for the prevention of child marriage. Apart from this, create awareness about the opportunities for education, health and development of girls.Organization of state-level leadership development workshop for girls:On the occasion of International Day of the Girl Child, a two-day state-level workshop was organized in Rajasthan on October 10-11, 2018, for girls belonging to 17 voluntary organizations in 11 districts of Rajasthan, workers of voluntary organizations, donor organizations and representatives of the government, Rajasthan Adult Education Committee, Held in Jaipur. The main objective of this workshop was to celebrate International Girl Child Day, exchange experiences of the work being done by girls for the prevention of child marriage, etc.In this workshop R.K.C.L. R.S.C.I.T., I.C.I.C., R.S.L.D.C. Representatives of other institutions told the girls about the schemes of the government. After this, Mrs Roli Singh, Secretary, Women and Child Development Department, Government of Rajasthan, Jaipur, Mrs. Rajesh Yadav, former IAS officer, Mr. Bharat Bhai from Visakha Jaipur, Mr. Arvind Ojha from Urmalu Trust, etc. interacted with the girls. After listening to the experiences of the girls and village-level problems, assured them of solutions. In this two-day workshop, 90 participants selected from different districts of Rajasthan participated.Girls Not Brides Rajasthan Launch Ceremony:The grand opening ceremony of Girls Not Brides Rajasthan was organized on 17 December 2018 at Jain Nasian Auditorium, Jaipur in the presence of Mrs Lakshmi Sundar, Global Head of Girls Not Brides from London, representatives of various voluntary organizations and girls from different districts of Rajasthan.At the beginning of the inauguration ceremony, Mr Arvind Ojha, Secretary, Urmul Trust, Bikaner told about the purpose of Girls Not Brides Rajasthan, the journey of the last year and future plans. After this, Girls Not Brides Mrs Lakshmi Sundaram from London, Mrs Shipra Jha from Girls Not Brides Delhi, UNICEF State Head Isabel, U.N.D.P. The representatives listened to the experiences of the girls and assured them to cooperate with the Girls Not Brides organization in making Rajasthan child marriage free. More than 250 participants participated in the inauguration ceremony.State level two day planning meeting of Girls Not Brides Rajasthan:A two-day state-level planning meeting of the members of Girls Not Brides Rajasthan was organized on 12-13 February 2019 in the presence of Divya Mukund of GNB Delhi at Rajasthan Adult Education Committee, Jaipur. The main purpose of this meeting was to evaluate the past activities, discuss the challenges and threats, discuss the role of the members of GNB Rajasthan, the format and rules of the organization and make future planning and budget. 25 divisions participated in the two-day meeting.
